Special Session:
AI-Driven Cybersecurity: Innovations, Challenges, and Ethical Frontiers
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into cybersecurity has revolutionized threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management. However, the rapid adoption of generative AI, adversarial machine learning, and autonomous defense systems introduces unprecedented challenges, including ethical dilemmas, bias in AI models, and vulnerabilities to AI-driven attacks. This workshop addresses the urgent need for multidisciplinary dialogue among researchers, industry practitioners, policymakers, and ethicists to:
- Explore cutting-edge AI applications in cybersecurity
- Identify risks and mitigation strategies for AI-powered threats
- Foster ethical frameworks for responsible AI deployment
AI is now a cornerstone of modern cybersecurity, enabling:
- Proactive Threat Detection: Machine learning models identify anomalies in real-time
- Automated Incident Response: AI systems like Darktrace’s Autonomous Response mitigate attacks without human intervention
- Adversarial AI: Offensive tools (e.g., deepfake phishing) and defensive strategies (e.g.,adversarial training)
Despite advancements, critical gaps persist:
- Ethical Concerns: Bias in AI models, privacy violations, and accountability for autonomous decisions
- Technical Challenges: Robustness against adversarial attacks, explainability of AI decisions
- Regulatory Fragmentation: Lack of global standards for AI in cybersecurity.

Prospective authors of papers are invited to submit a paper (typically 4-6 pages in standard IEEE two-column A4 format) via EDAS platform by suggesting the related special session: link. The paper should contain a complete description of the proposed contribution along with results, suitably framed in the related state of the art. Each paper will be reviewed in terms of relevance with respect to the scope of the event, originality and quality of the technical content, overall organization and writing style.
The IEEE Style Manual and Conference Paper templates in various formats are available through the following links: http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html
